On November 25th, the inaugural National Supplier Retail Awards (NSRA) took place. But what are the NSRA?
The awards are the newest in series of events held by the most influential publication for the grocery retail and FMCG sector in Ireland, Checkout. Checkout magazine has been in operation for more than 40 years, during which time it has established itself as the premier source of news, information, market data and insight into the Irish retail grocery sector
This first-of-its-kind event acknowledged best-in-class logistics providers, equipment manufacturers, store fitouts, utility providers, loyalty programmes, facilities management and merchandising teams – in essence, the suppliers ‘behind the scenes’ that make Ireland’s retail industry one of the most competitive in the world.
So what did we win?
Shop Equipment won Best Shop Equipment Supplier for food and beverage sector and also won Best Store Redesign for our work in Bretts Centra Kildare Town.
But that wasn’t all – we had nominations and runners up positions across multiple categories including our working in Supervalu Kingscross, Centra Rathnew and Supervalu Kilcock.

In July 2016 SEL were awarded the contract to design and fit the a state of the art environment for the cash and carry business. The emphasis was on fresh produce, meat, fish, off licence and ambient grocey
SEL along with the Musgrave team were involved in the design and prototyping all display units, some of which are first to market anywhere in the world. SEL designed and manufactured a new shelf for displaying trays, pots and pans to their optimum.
New cash and carry checkouts. a working kitchen and coffee kiosk were also installed by our expert team of fitters.
Along with our partners ITAB Shop Concepts, we designed and installed a total new and unique shelving system for cash and carry – supplying 600 bays and well over 2500 bespoke shelves.

In summer 2016, Shop Equipment Ltd embarked on its most daring venture yet... car dealerships! Car dealerships I hear you ask?
Yes, 2016 was year which saw the Shop Equipment and Toyota Ireland partnership begin. Since we started our work with Toyota Ireland, we have successfully rolled out 17 new car showrooms throughout Ireland including the new state of art dealership which opened in Liffey Valley.
A new concept for a Toyota dealership Liffey Valley integrates the sales and service business by wrapping the service workshop around the showroom. Encompassing 3,000 square metres over two floors, the new showroom features Toyota’s new Retail Concept offering customers an immersive experience, encompassing a combination of physical, human and digital touch points which will guide the customer through the showroom.
In addition there are multiple vantage points from the customer areas of the dealership into the service workshop. This area comprises a14 bay workshop featuring pre-NCT and inspection bays along with dedicated Express Servicing bays to provide the ultimate in customer convenience. In addition Toyota Liffey Valley’s business lounge allows customers to stay connected in comfort and work while availing of Toyota’s one hour express service.
